Hi KYSTYX,
We are sailing with TMM in February of 2003, so I'll be interested to hear your experiences. We are usually Moorings charterers, and have sailed the BVI, Abacos and Grenadines on several occasions, so this TMM/Belize experience will be a new one for us on many levels.
Based on my land-based experience of San Pedro a few years ago, and information I received on this Board, I expect to do all of our provisioning in San Pedro, other than having TMM order and have delivered our supply of Belikin and bottled water. (I've done full and split provisioning from the charter companies -- usually a bad idea for us -- as well as bringing food from the States. On on our last several charters, I have gone with nothing more than a tentative menu, a shopping list, and some essential spices, and this has been the most satisfying). We like to eat local seafood, and that sounds plentiful and easily obtained; with basic ingredients that we shouldn't have too much trouble getting, and a little creativity, I think we'll be fine and not bored. But what you do about provisioning really depends on how hard you want to work, what kind of food you want to eat, your budget, etc. Feel free to e-mail me for ideas.
We are going to be staying at TMM's condo the nights before and after our sail. Two bedrooms will fit our entire crew, and the rate is only $175.
Fair winds,
Sailor Girl
