I say get a gas golf cart if you get one. The elec. from my experience were NOT reliable. We hadn't been driving ours for more than 45 minutes and the battery ran out of juice (we were told it was fully charged and showed fully charged on the gauge when we started). We traded it in, the second one died coming back from Journey's End (way up north) about when we hit town. We got ANOTHER cart. That one had some sort of mechanical failure and it sounded like the whole bottom was about to fall out.

Golf carting was fun, but a pain to have to keep trading them in.

I have to add my 2 cents for banyan bay. I was there end of august and felt pampered. beautiful and spacious rooms, great pool, great restaurant (Rico's) and there is snorkeling from the beach on the right side of the restaurant (a definite bonus). I think the golf carts are part of the adventure. enjoy whereever you stay!!!!
