While checking out the board, I viewed someones photos posted from their trip and noticed a few with crocs lying in the water in front of their hotel. I can't remember whose pics they were but since then I've been wondering if there are any concerns swimming in the water...I thought sharks would be something to look out for but when I see pictures of crocs half in the water and on the beach, I can't help but wonder if there is any concern. Where do they hang out so I can do my best to avoid them!!!

Seriously doubt that any reef-side hotel on Ambergris Caye has ever hosted "a few crocs" at the beach.
I our 12 years at the beach we have run across just one croc near the beach. It had fallen into a well that we had created to mix cement - the croc was maybe 7 feet long and it was rescued with with a LOT of caution.
Possibly the photo you saw was taken in lagoon behind Journey's End? Some rooms in that resort face the lagoon----- ? OR could be a fake photo.
The lagoons are croc habitat. On rare occasions, and in areas where lagoons are close to the eastern beach-shore, a croc will wander out to the beach - this occurrance is so rare that you need loose no sleep over it.

...no joke. Really... We just lost one of our dogs to a croc.

Though this subject is already being covered in another thread it bears repeating: when you're vacationing here, PLEASE don't feed the croc south of town (Satan.) The last thing AC needs is (more) of the animals associating human's w/ a meal ticket. Lose/lose situation for everyone: us, when some unfortunate accident happens (which it will) and the croc, when after said accident folks scream for it to be destroyed.
