I stayed at Brianna's before, I loved the location, and the vendors I encountered did not open the gate and come up to the door, they asked in passing if I was interested, and that was every vendor, food, crafts, and otherwise. I said yes to meat pies, plaintains, and a cool little piece of art. I said no to drugs, and was only asked once, and never again. I have to agree with everyone else who thinks it was the father that got everyone into this mess. What a dope (pun intended). If tourists would not create the market, maybe the dealers would be forced back to the mainland. It was encouraging that the local law enforcement is finally cracking down on drugs. If you buy, you are guilty, if you sell, you are guilty. Doesn't matter to me which end of the stick the cops choose to enforce, it's illegal, and to encourage it to continue by buying, and expect not to suffer the consequences if busted, is outrageous. Your family gets to go home at the end of your holiday, the good folks of San Pedro have to live with, and have their kids subjected to, this "economy" that you just supported.

The neighbors are good people, and hey, they have kids there. How would you feel if your kids had to put up with drunks one week, druggies the next? I had some good talks with them, and they shared so many interesting things. When it was time to leave, I gave them everything I had leftover, and they appreciated it. Even if your stay on AC is a short time, take the time to be a good neighbor, the locals will appreciate it. This is more of a residential area than many of the other places on AC, and I liked it even more for that reason. I would much rather put up with the dogs, than some of the sloppy drunks at the hotels.

Sandy does a great job with this quaint little rental house, and Searious is one of the most respected tour operators on the island. Willie can do many things, but he cannot control the speed and flow of the river.

I feel that you owe Sandy and Willie an apology. I know I sure wouldn't have gone to bat for you if you were caught doing something illegal in a property I owned. I would have kicked you out then and there. You were treated decently.

The island has to take a stand against drugs, before the tourist economy grows any larger. What a horrible public image that would be to those of us who love it. I think of Jamaica, and think, great beaches and drugs. I don't think anyone wants AC moving in that direction. So get the tourists who are busted on the next available plane off the island, and send the message that buying will not be tolerated. You wanna smoke, do it in your home, in your country.
