Exactly my thoughts, spl. Responsible pet ownership includes keeping them safe from things unknown. Yes, there are times when they will escape, but ultimatly, it is up to us to keep them out of harms way. Being able to "roam free" is a very wonderful thing, but not if they are placed in harms way. After all, they are the "dumb" animals, able to give love, but not able to reason and deduct, so we have to do it for them.
