Peter a billion years ago it, (amer. south and north australites, Africa and Antarctica) where just one and called Pangea, a split occurred in iceland ,half of island went to amer. and half to Eurasiana.There are some weird accent names of the old continents that sound like they came right out of the Hobbit stories.
The bird studies carry me into some strange extremes sometimes.
I read this when I was researching Migration and discovered that birds don't fly south for the winter but instead fly north for the summer. It all depends on how you look at it and where they started from. looking on the correct half of the planet for clues to migration is a big help.
