Visit the old city center...founded by Columbus's guys on top of a Maya city. Only 500+ years old...Nice old European style city with sidewalk cafes, parks, lots of good restaurants. Sunday is a special day in old Merida...no cars, bands playing in the streets, lots of people...a great pl laugh ace!
