Perhaps we could petition for Derrick to become Belize's Music Ambassador instead of the waste of space recently announced. Once Derrick gets to Berklee he will have achieved more than any Belizean has ever before achieved in the arena of music. HE would be a worthy role model.


While attending Berklee's Summer program is a great accomplishment for anyone, including a Belizean, it is not the biggest achievement of any Belizean musician.

Andy Palacio won many prestigous awards, including BBC's best world music album 2008. Lord Rhaburn toured all over the world representing Belize, including playing at The World Fair in 1981 the year of Belizean Indepenence. Also people like; Francis Reneau, Tanya Carter , Sam Harris, Mr. Peters , Titiman Flores (played Lincoln Center) Etc...All have some very big international accolodes.

For a Belizean from San Pedro it's probably the biggest achievement...
