If you have that many people you may want to come out to Caye Caulker, overall everything here is about 30 to 40% less expensive than San Pedro. We have a great swimming and snorkel spot at the split. Caye Caulker is much smaller than San Pedro, if you are into fine dining and more upscale resorts that would be San Pedro. Scuba, snorkel, fishing are at par just less expensive here. You can do some online search stuff on both places. I would spend 4 days on Caye Caulker or San Pedro, then head up to San Ignacio for 4 days, stop at the Belize Zoo, as The Director of a Humane Society here I dont much like Zoos, but this one is great, your kids will see animals they didnt know existed. The bus ride fron Belize City to San Ignacio is about 4 hours, you can jump off the bus go to the zoo and catch the next bus up for about $6.00 each. There are alot of family friendly places to stay in San Ignacio, from $20 to $30. Then take the family to the A.T.M. caves, its the best adventure I think Belize has to offer...google..A.T.M.Belize to read more. Then you can also go to xunantunich mayan ruins about 20 minutes out of San Ignacio....Do your internet searches and good luck..
