If you ship a whole container either 20 or 40 foot you should be able to arrange for customs inspection at the unloading point here on the Caye, so the Port Customs don't get a look in and you are there when it's unloaded and inspected at the same time. We did it from UK and it's a lot less daunting than it seems, but find a good Shipper - I'd def find one locally to where you are that is experienced or specialist in overseas house moving and also get in touch with Customs here as high up the chain as you can go to see the local procedure and fully understand Import Duty and import restrictions eg. will anything wood need a permit to be imported. Things like this may be what tips you on if you will bring certain items or not.
