The public is hereby informed that the sale of tickets at Bus Terminals listed below will take effect on Monday, November 2nd, 2020.

- Belize City Bus Terminal
- Orange Walk Bus Terminal
- Corozal Bus Terminal

All Bus Operators (Bus Owners) are hereby reminded of their responsibility to sell tickets at the Bus Terminals as mandated by the Motor Vehicle and Road Traffic Regulation and the Quarantine

(Prevention of the spread of infectious disease) (Covid 19) Regulations, 2020 (Statutory Instrument No. 136 of 2020). Bus drivers and conductors are to sanitize buses before transporting passengers and are to refrain from carrying passenger in excess of the seating capacity. Bus Drivers who are caught transporting excessive passengers will be prosecuted.

Commuters are advised to ensure that they purchase their ticket(s) in order to board the bus enroute to their desired destination. Additionally, commuters are asked to comply with the protocols of social distancing, use of face mask and proper hand sanitizing.

Regulation 15(4) of Statutory Instrument No. 136 of 2020 states that "Every person travelling on a bus is required to purchase a ticket which will entitle the holder to queue up, observing social distancing of six feet between persons, for and orderly boarding of the bus."

The Department of Transport and the Police Department will continue to enforce the provisions of the relevant legislation.
