And since you asked: I have been a civil rights lawyer for 27 years. For the past few years, I have specialized in elder abuse litigation -- I sue for profit nursing homes for violating the civil rights of elderly people by torturing them (sometimes to death) for profit..and yes, I do a lot of pro bono (that means free) work as well. In the past, my practice has concentrated on criminal defense initially and then whistleblower and plaintiff employment discrimination litigation...always on behalf of the little guy against well heeled big corporations and sometimes the government.
So that's "what side of the fence" I am on...
