The Mopan River Resort photos are in the "Other Parts of Belize" section of this board under the thread "mainland photos on yahoo".
Specifically, the grounds and gardens are beautiful (hence many flower photos) and there are many species of birds, including Sheila the Toucan. She is wild, but can be coaxed to take papaya bits from a bowl. It took me 6 tries on three successive days, but it was well worth it! I swam in the river with the locals just because. The Mayan ruin trip to Cahal Pech was very interesting. (If you have a chance to go anywhere with the guide named Francisco, you'll have a good time...please say hello for me!) We also did river kayaking and cave river tubing through Mopan. The cabanas are well kept. The service is fabulous, you'll be spoiled. Get to know the other guests (we still communicate with some we met there). Ask Victor the bartender to make you one of those special drinks we developed last April while we were there: Banana, one barrell, cocaonut cream & milk. Yummy.
