Jane,
You have that problem too? LOL Mark is always using things in the fridge ear marked for something special...... Then wonders why he doesn't get anything new, exotic or special...... Go figure.
P.S. I live in Po-dunk USA, and haven't a clue where you would get biscotti pie crust mix.....Got any extra???? The people here don't even know what artichokes or capers are.......A really nice meal out here is catfish.....Ahhhhh country living......

Jane, thanks for the recipes. Bob couldn't believe that I did the whole spread for just the two of us. Everything was delicious! Extra miles on the treadmill this week! Carole

So Debbie, what's wrong with catfish? I'll bet you can get sweet-tea too. I'm jealous. People here consider Walleye good eating and wouldn't know a hush puppy if it bit them on the...
And we may have plenty of gourmet shops, but too many folks still put catsup on their prime rib.

here we call that "ketchup", and it is for cheesesteaks. catfish is served here only in restaraunts.

deb - i bought some stella d'oro almond toast and biscotti and ground it up with some sugar. it worked fine. (you gotta have stella d'oro cookies in your market.) our market sells fresh biscotti out of the bakery too, plus other more expensive kinds on the shelf. hell, you cant sneeze up here without falling over a biscotti, or a cappucino for that matter. what are you guys, heathens? sheesh.

Mama Liz, LOVE catfish. Eat it often. It's just on the menu in the nicest place in town........ Usually the nicer places serve swordfish, halibut or Mahi Mahi..... Not here...... [Linked Image] I can relate to the catsup on the prime rib. Makes my skin crawl... LOL

Jane, Yes, we heathens down here are really pathetic....... Can't get a cappucino anywhere in town.... Doesn't that SUCK???? The deli doesn't even have corned beef. REALLY sad. Can only get rye bread on a "good" day at the grocery, and boy howdy you had better check the date!!!!! I stumbled onto some almond flavored biscotti in a bag in the "deli"..... So I can grind them up and use them????? will try it.... Since there is no such thing as biscotti pie mix. Funny, I order tea after dinner, and get cold. I like hot tea thank you very much!!!!When I say I want it with milk, they shake their heads. They still put lemon in it. Use your imagination!!!!! GROSS!!! Instant cottage cheese....... Oh well.... I try.

Deb, we can get these things in South Texas at Sam's Club Boscotti in a tall glass decanter, and Starbucks Coffee.
Our convenient store Coastal Mart has cappucino, and it is really good.
Have Hubby pick up some, on his next trip down here to look after our trees. LOL

LOL at Mom. That's a great idea. I just want to make sure that I'm with him!!! My new vacation time starts over Jan. 1, so I should be able to take a day off and come down soon....... Then I can indulge in my own cappucino and get the right biscotti. If I sent Mark for that, he'd come home with buttermilk bisquit mix!!!!!!! When we drive into Houston we always stop for a french vanilla or an english toffee cappucino. The big book stores in Houston have a gourmet coffee shop attached. We hang out in there for hours..... LOL~i would love to see you too meet! fly on the wall! yak, yak, yak pumped full of 10 cups of cappuccino! we have a starbucks in our town, too, and 3 megabookstores, and coffee houses are getting really popular. but, for like $7 a bag, i just grind those good beans and sit & look out my back window. bliss! funny, i once read a joke: people will happily pay $3.50 for 8 oz of cappucino, but complain of $1.50 a gal for gas! (it is that here)
