Thank you one and all. Sorry for the delay in responding...we just got Stephanie home Saturday, she goes back in on the 15th for surgery. She has suffered some trauma to her spinal cord and will require bone-fusion to repair her spinal column. It could have been much worse...this has been a very rough time for us, and we really appreciate the outpouring of love and well-wishes that we have received.

I printed this thread and gave it to my daughter...it really cheered her up (she was quite pleased to learn that she has a candle lit for her in Belize!). Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

Hopefully, after all is said and done (and if these bills don't strap us for the next 20 yrs) I'll be able to show her firsthand the magic of Belize and the people who live there as well as those of you who frequent this board.

CCACS members...please feel free to call or visit...it does her a world of good!

Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers, especially on the 15th. Thank you again, this means a lot to me...

Just add me to the list of people praying for Pirate. I don't know him, but thought i'd add my prayers. I was in a diving accident (diving, not scuba) about 15 years ago & have a spinal cord injury..doctors told me i'd never move from my neck down, well after a long (2 year) recovery, i'm up and walking around and traveling (somewhat slower than before, but hey...i'm not complaing) I appreciate the little things so much more now. My heart goes out to Pirate & his family..it's a long tough road when something like this happens, but there is a huge pot-of-gold at the end of the rainbow. Pirate...Think positive thoughts, pray a lot & know that your Belize family is doing the same!!

I don't do the prayer thing, but I do wish you the best of luck and will think positive thoughts for your daughter.
This is a time to ask your friends for help when you need it, if you ever feel confused or concerned about anything relating to your daughter's care, ask a good friend to help you address it and get pushy with the docs and insurance company if necessary, don't try to go it alone.

My prayers are with you my man. I unfortunately went through a very similar situation with my son about 7 years ago. He underwent brain surgery for about 4 hours and it was by far the worst time of my life. He is now fine but a royal pain in the ass that was not due to the surgery. Keep positive thoughts and everything will turn out alright. On a side note the surgeon who performed the operation had a wife who was pregnant at the time and he was the most caring person I had ever encountered. We are friends now with his family which is really unbelievable.

There is only one cure for baldness. It was invented by a Frenchman. It is called the guillotine.

Pirate: I am sorry to hear about your daughter. One short month ago, we were having a blast at the Colorado pool party. You never know what life will throw at you. Positive thoughts and prayers coming your way.

Thank you again, everyone. We meet with the surgeon tomorrow morning, and the surgery is scheduled for this Thurday morning, so we're all on pins and needles. My daughter really appreciates the support from this network of unseen, but heartfelt friends. THANK YOU!

Hope, Loie, and Diann: YOU ROCK!!! Thanks for everything...I can't say thank you enough! I can't believe that a year ago we were all strangers...you are a blessing!
