OK,,,, I've just read that recipe ~~ a POUND of flour? I think that would be a bit much for Mr Malibu and I. Anybody else have a recipe that calls for cups of flour?

Well that would be the obvious thing to do however I was hoping (and I guess I should have stated so) for someone who actually makes them in their kitchen, home or restaurant, to give me their recipe.

according to my granny prevaricator, whom was
exiled from the isle of wight in the late 1800's, a typical pound cake would weigh around 4 pounds, given there was a pound each of sugar, butter, flour and eggs.

Size or weight class - Minimum net weight
per dozen:
Jumbo 30 ounces
Extra Large 27 ounces
Large 24 ounces
Medium 21 ounces
Small 18 ounces
Peewee 15 ounces

So a pound of large eggs would be about 8 eggs.
