Make your own Sangria...
I bottle red chianti
1 bottle of giner ale or club soda, I forget which
Either 1 cup of sugar or maybe a 1/2 cup, I forget
and there's something else I forget also.

But man is it good! eek

DB - nope, never made my own. Got a good recipe with ALL the ingredients??? (Thanks for nuthin' Denny!) Send it along if you do. Although, with my little headache right now, it'll be a week or two before I'm game enough to attempt it!

Noviscotianuts,
Try this recipe. Always works for me.

Maybe it'll help you feel better sooner! laugh

Makes approx 1.5 litres "Red" Sangria

1-750 ml med body dry red wine
Cup Brandy or Rum (or volume to taste)
12 oz fresh Orange Juice*
4 oz fresh Lime Juice*
4 oz fresh Lemon Juice*
12 oz Pineapple Juice*
cup granulated sugar or cup simple syrup*

Sliced Fruit - Oranges, Lemons, Limes, Mangoes, etc
8 oz sparkling beverage of choice - club soda, tonic water or sparkling wine

Mix first 7 ingredients together well and refrigerate at least 1 hr or even overnight.

Mix fruit and sparking beverage in just prior to serving and garnish with fruit slices on rim of glass.

*as an alternative you can substitute small cans of frozen undiluted concentrated orange juice, lime aid, lemon aid, pineapple juice in place of juices above and omit sugar or simple syrup. Add a little water to taste.

For White Sangria, use Sav Blanc, or other fruity white wine, add peaches, cherries, kiwi fruit of choice.

Alsoyou must play Jerry Jeff's anthem "Sangria Wine" while assembling your concoction.

Always feel free to experiment. Making this delicious stuff up is majority of the fun! Enjoy!
