E, you are one of the best examples of going around your alloted once in style that I have ever seen!

It is amazing really, my grandmother still tells me stories about her dad taking her to school in a horse drawn sled. The changes she's seen. I often wonder if I will see that kind of total transformation of the way we live in my lifetime.

Gee, PalapaBob, you mean you haven't? I was so sure you were in the Old Guy category! :p

My great grandfather was a circuit-riding preacher, born in 1899. He died in 1998 and I do miss his stories about the changes he lived. He was one of those persons convinced people never really walked on the moon!

Well Law, depends on the age requirements for the OLC! I'm not sure I can join. Any other prerequisites to get in? I can remember getting our first color TV, my first video game was Pong, I remember having to get up to change the channel (we got 4 channels), the things I had in childhood are now worth something on eBay, we didn't have microwave ovens, we made popcorn on top of the stove, I could fill my car for about 5 bucks! :rolleyes:

hey - watch that! Remember, as a VERY good friend has reminded me on more than one occasion, Age is only a number! It's not what life ya got, it's what ya do/did with it.

Your GGF is not the only one who thinks/thought that, Law. I know a guy who produced a documentary subscribing to that very theory - the whole thing was a set-up (according to him) on a sound stage in Quantico. Of course, he also said the same thing about Gulf I. :rolleyes:

We can use computers to talk to people around the world, yet it seems we can't communicate very well.

Advances in medicine and treatment is amazing in today's world, yet we still have people around the globe dying from simple diseases.

We can get on an airliner and fly half way around the world, yet we have a hard time feeding people around the world.

We still fight wars over the same old causes since the stone age.

Maybe the world is so smart it's become the nutty professor that can know quantum physics etc...but doesn't have enough common sense to put a quart of oil in the car when the red light's been on for a month!

And palapaBob...I'll take Jiffy Pop over microwave any day!
