kerry. i live south...tell me where the house is and next time i go by i will try to assess how bad it really is. quite frankly, there are enough handy guys around that if they see ya with a hammer and nails, they generously take over smile

Does SAGA sponsor obedience school for the dogs? At least if they were trained they wouldn't knock the poor woman to the ground in their excitement. Suggestions there?

I use something with my dog that would solve this for cheap. There is a collar that goes around the neck and nose of the dog that allows the leash to be clipped up under the chin. The leverage works against the dog and he cannot pull. If he trys, his head is turned around back towards the owner. A small child can easily control a large untrained dog with this collar...

One small drawback is that people confuse the collar with a muzzle and think the dog is a biter. Also it can be a little confusing on how to get the collar on so somebody would probably have to show the lady of to use it.
