Just finished watching...I am always pleased to find someone enjoying the discovery of Belize and San Pedro. Also seeing friends and even mi casa on the Laguna de San Pedro during the fly-in. Should increase the value by at least $25,000US .

"Belize was an episode that I don't think we did the country justice. As a host, there are definitely times when I think I didn't get it, I didn't do a good job. I'm not an expert so I take some comfort in that I don't have to know everything but I do feel like I have a responsibility not only to viewers but to the people of that particular town, city or country. You just want to do good by them. The problem with our take on Belize was that it was the tourist approach as opposed to the traveler. Sure it's fun snorkeling (well not really as my fear of water takes most of the joy out of it) going on boat rides and taking walks on beaches but after Nicaragua and Honduras I was on a travel high and I wanted that to continue in Belize. An acquaintance of mine had spent years living here and told my how wonderful and beautiful the people were. But for our show's purposes we will be spending most of the time showing off Belize's natural beauty and even though it really is a stunning place to be I'm already missing not getting to experience it's soul.

K, I apologize for being so defensive . . . I've never found a place I feel so at home that wasn't home. All you can do is tell your friends that Belize is so much more, and hope they believe you. If they do, and they visit, then they will understand, too.

I was rather disappointed also. She didn't do our island, let alone the country, justice. But hey, at least Belize is finally being put on the map!

We were planning on watching it but Pedro came by yesterday morning and asked us to come round that night. So we completely forgot and will have to try and catch a re-run.
Wii bowling and poker dice were fun though. The new bartender there is nice.

I was a bit disappointed after watching. I was hoping to see more of Ambergris Caye as a local person would see it. I had always thought that was the point of the show. In my opinion, they didn't catch the "laid back" feel that sold me on visiting in the first place. In fact, the show made it seem like a huge party town full of tourists like Cancun or something. Oh well, maybe I'll just have to make my own show in August! Anyone want in??
