Like Elbert said - with the rains they should be driven away or destroyed.

I'll tell you after the weekend. Hoping the calm seas will remain for the weekend so we can have some snorkeling fun.

Thanks!

A fish and a bird can fall in love, but where will they build their nest?

They have a reputation for being highly lethal (I apologise for the poor English) but I don't know what that means. If we're unlikely to see the really dangerous ones that's one thing, but if there's a high statistical probability of coming across a bad one then we should be worried. Elbert's assurance that rain drives them away (is that right? - or does it kill them?) is comforting, to a degree.

This happened to Norman and I in Jamaica. We were on a night dive, just us and the master. Master and I came up first with our lights on and hit a swarm. The dive master got it the worst and incurred an injury much like Elberts, mine were minor on my arms- Norm's lucky no stings. The dive master said either Vinegar (which they had in the boat) or urine will do the trick, I think Norm would have preferred to pee on me wink

I was at a medical conference in Maui a few years ago, and this topic was discussed at length, along with other environmental dangers. It was believed by most of the medical gurus there that if you are allergic to bees, wasps, or hornets, or one of those types of creatures, you have a very high risk of being allergic to any jelly fish sting, the more potent the sting, the higher your risk of an anaphalactic reaction. It is in EVERYONE's best interest to make sure you carry benadryl along with the vinegar, and if you use an epi pen for insect stings, you should carry one with your stuff if you are diving or snorkeling, just in case. I carry mine, especially when traveling.
