You go, Barnacle. Have one for me, please. Contemplate, assess, and regroup. And, most of all, hang in there!!!

Mmm a nice frosty Belikin would be perfect to go with all this staring at the mesmerizing sea whilst hanging in a hammock under the coconut trees. Isn't it a little warm today?

Sigh, life is so good...

Didn't mean to sound like I was complaining. Just calling it as I saw it. I know there are many, many problems with this country but compared to most other places, this place is a breeze! At least we know what to expect here. No place on this earth I would rather live.

Hear, hear JZB.

Yes, we know what to expect - the unexpected! LOL

There's still no place like home.

As someone said earlier in the thread, I too think it would be a good idea to put the developers on the hook for some infrastructure prior to allowing them to commence their project.

Even here at home in the big city, developers are required to put in the roads, sewer systems, access to utilities, various and sundry other things. This is their obligation. I believe they may even be required to ensure that their project has X amount of green space and they may have to plant trees on boulevards, etc.

Correct. Let's define "recent migrants and/or wannabes" if we want this debate to be fair. How about we limit it to the last 10-12 years which, and I'll argue this with anyone, have seen the most change on AC.

I had a conversation with a local SP divemaster a few years ago and he recounted how he used to be able to walk the entire village in a day and talk to everyone...and he knew them all.

At the point of our conversation, he was too busy and admitted that, in a day, he could no longer do that; nor could most of the folks on the island. They were, as he pointed out, working, happy and better off than they were before.

Maybe he was wrong, but I suspect not.

You want to fight change? Get a sword and go windmill hunting.

I was going to get a life, but this was easier.
