The cost of shipping is very expensive and very slow. Also you get a much better deal with customs at the airport, they will probably not charge anything as it is your personal property you are taking in and out. If you ship it you will no doubt be charged around 30% of what they think its worth, as they have no way of knowing if its coming in to stay. Another thought would be to bring it with you, even if it puts your luggage over weight limit, its cheaper than shipping. If you are doing other traveling when you get here. Send it ahead to San Pedro on Tropic or Maya Air you can then pick it up when you get to San Pedro.

Thanks Cooper. I guess its schlep everything on the plane and pick up supplies when we get to town. Anybody got any opinions on a provisioner vs. buying at the local groceries when we get in? We're staying in a condo north of town and don't mind cooking - probably get a cart for a day or two at some point.
