wj and i had a good visit with denny, joanne, and some other failiy members. he has a long way to go but there was some progress. we were there quite a while so i think we tired him out. the staff also indicated that he had been up a couple of hours that day in a wheelchair, and that they would do that on a daily basis. he has a good hard squeeze in his right hand. he is required to wear a hospital mitten so that he doesn't jack with all of his tubes, hoses, etc. and he does try to pull on them. he also moved his right leg frequently. more than once we asked if he could hear us & he would give us a thumbs up (on command) or a very small head nod. he would even try to move his lips ever so slightly as tho he wanted to speak. he even turned his eyes towards us when we would be speaking to him on one side of the bed or the other. this was not constant, it was maybe 2 or 3 times at best. on the previous night, wj, joanne and her husband all swear up & down that he spoke. i will let becky tell that story & fill in any details that i have missed. it is possible that he will be moved this week. it should be a facility that can work better with his needs. he has a very long recovery ahead. keep up the good prayers, thoughts & vibes for our buddy.

Thanks Gay. I hope to go soon for a visit (when the traveling ends).
Glad that he's got company and family around. Great to hear.

Hi everyone it is Joanne. Just an update my dad is supposedly going to be transferred to TIRR (Texas Institute for Rehab and Rehabilitation) sometime this week. I also e-mail a lot of air ambulance people and so far I received two responses back... of $20,000 and $16,000. That is just soooo much money, that nobody has. And right now the doctor said that he can only travel by air ambulance. I'm hoping within the next coming weeks that will change. I have tried to contact the Houston Bar Assoc. to try and get legal questions answered, but I didn't get any answers. This whole ordeal has been extremely stressful. Thanks again for everyone's thoughts and prayers. Joanne

Hi Joanne I never met your father but from the responce here he must be a wonderful man. I not a lawyer but there is free sites for legal Questions one of them is www.lawlibrary.com that will answer Questions for any state, you might want to check out this site.Lawyers here at this site would know better than me on this. Hope all turns out well for you and yours. Carl

Joanne, hope I don't add to the confusion and work involved but.....The VA might help transfer him to TIRR. I am probably late, it has probably already been done. Just a thought. Hope all is well.
