Are you saying you would leave a tip no matter how bad the service was?

I too believe in TIPing but only when I have received good service. But if a person feels that their service was less than par then they don't have to tip. As for Pedro I had a very similar experience and didn't tip the server but went the owner and left a tip for the bartender and kitchen as the food was good and the drinks were awesome it was the server who was the issue.

I guess I am just very fortunate that I have never felt a server was bad enough to deserve no tip at all. Sure I have had less than good service but never felt that the server needed to pay money to the staff on my behalf. I have NEVER left nothing.

I love the food at Sunset Grill. I think it's very good for the price and the service is great. I always take my family and friends to see the tarpon feeding.

You're missing the key point - each one of us was overcharged and the waiter (the only person we saw there that day) didn't want to do anything about it.

"or you would tip if you got good service."

Good being the operative word here...my custom is to tip at least 15% if the wait person is attentive, notices when my glasses are empty, has a nice disposition, and offers to correct any problems when possible.

If I get better service than that, I give a bigger tip. I have been out before and actually tipped the bartender or wait person more than my tab if they have done an exceptional job.

Now that's funny!

I wish I knew how to post a clip of that scene from Crash.
