I thought the US said Canada unfairly sudsidized it's soft wood lumber industry and therefor imposed tarrifs on all the lumber entering the US, and as a result has collapsed the industry. I also think they have challenged the agricultural industry (family owned farms) and are slowly destroying that sector.

Cancun (& Mexico in general) also has much more volume of tourism & business traffic, charter flights, many more carriers, 1 or 2 Mexican carriers, etc. Much more competition.

I once accidentially topped off my jet with diesel... boy was my face red.
