SPL my point was if there in town in the late afternoon ,for what ever reason ??they can get a free ride at 630.to Portofino then they would drop them back at there place!!!!!!!!!! just a thought..A good one I think ....!!!!!

really? then i wonder how we and our cart got there in May... we drove it. it was VERY bone-jarring tho, and i would NOT attempt the ride after dark.

that said, in November, we could not really even get past palapa bar for the poor road condition. guess it depends on the road that given day/week/month.

I've cycled there up the road, several times. It's not nearly as far as you might think. Psychologically it seemed a hell of a long way when I went for the first time, and in fact Jan gave me and bike a ride back on his boat. But the second time seemed to take no time, and cycling back (at dusk) took just over 30 minutes.

I agree, I've no desire to be on that road after dark, even with a powerful headlamp. I've twice come across a crocodile stretched across the road apparently asleep, and I've no desire to ride into one!
