Just heard on the news that this temporary crossing at Kendal was washed out today as the river rose.

Southern Belize is tonight once again cut off from the rest of the country. That is because the temporary causeway that was built to replace the Kendall Bridge has been washed away. The mighty Sittee River began to rise this afternoon and reliable reports are that the temporary structure has been completely washed away. So currently no vehicular traffic can access Southern Belize. The BDF has already deployed a boat to assist people to cross the river.

The news isn't better in Mullins River where the causeway is now submerged. Levels of all rivers in the Toledo District are already above normal and rising.

We can expect them to continue to rise because the Weather Bureau says a tropical wave will cross the country tonight. They forecast up to 4 inches within the next 24 hours. The full forecast is coming up later on in the news.
