we have alot of them on our lot. In Tx, I used Over and Out - worked great, actually killed them and kept them away for close to a year, but I haven't seen that product down here. Any suggestions? Please?? (scratch, scratch, ouch, @*#&$)

Any product with Diazanon ( spray or granular) will do the trick. Your best product out there is "Amdro". It's the only product recommended by the US dept. of Agriculture.

but be careful Diazanon gets human pests as well.
I pronounce it Die-Ass-anon so I don't forget what I'm spraying.

Good anaolgy Elbert. Chemicals of any sort should be broadcast with the greatest of care. I use Amdro, for all intents and purposes its not noxious, but still wear protective clothes and mask .

We use Amdro on the ants here, but no matter what product we use, it just seems to chase them from one place to another.

boric acid works pretty well - it's not as toxic as most of the chemical stuff that's sold commercially and once the ants take it home it pretty much takes care of the problem

I can never remember which is better . . . safe? . . . or sorry?

Boric acid is what we use in the UK. It isn't particularly noxious to pets, and biodegrades quite quickly.

Ant Control Recipe:
Mix together in a container that will not be used for anything else:
4 ounces of peanut butter
4 ounces of sugar
4 ounces of boric acid
Set in place where the ants are congregating. Leave in place for several days allowing the ants to feed. May need to be repeated.
CAUTION: You want to place the bait where the ants will eat it but not where children or pets can get it.
