I'm with you Peter, I gave up on bikes when I lost #9, some of us are not allowed to own a bike.

How much does a new Hurricane cost? Does anyone there deal in used bikes? When we were there in the fall we rented from the guy downtown. Might have been Joe's.

In Belize city you can pick up a new bike for about 250 dollars BZ. You can rent bikes on the island but I am not sure how much they charge, if I remember correctly, its about 8 to 10 dollars perday.

Take your bike inside when you are at home. Problem solved.

The trick is to use a cable lock covered with rollers so it can't be cut easily and with a quality lock (one designed for motorcycles is best), and then secure both frame and a wheel to something immovable. I'm probably tempting fate to say this, but I've had my present bike for over a year. It was stolen twice when it was locked but not immovably, but each time it was dumped when they couldn't cut the cable and I got it back. Mind you, it's a cheap bike - I wouldn't give anything for your chances with an expensive one.

Where is the best place to buy a bike here in SP? I'm starting my search to buy one.............

I've found the best deals at SP Hardware, south of town near Caribbean Villas.

We get bikes from Joe's Bike Rental every year. We get a bike, fenders, lock & cable, bell, basket for $150US.

That's not bad. Are they new or ex-rental?
