an update from a relative, sent last night:

Just wanted to let everyone know Tammy has been admitted to a hospice residence after a week in the hospital with more complications.

On one of her better days I took my laptop to the hospital and she was able to read the e-mails and postings sent by each of you. It gave her soooooo much comfort and peace. Thanks to all of you for writing.

I transposed each of the responses to cards with pictures of her favorite flowers and will take them to her room to place on her wall tomorrow. Please keep up the prayers and continue to communicate via e-mail or postings. You may send e-mails to her address ([email protected]) I will see that she gets them all and will keep all of you up to date. Your friendship and love have meant the world to her. God Bless you all.

excerpt from a friend:

"Hi ya Janie!

I called Tammy again yesterday at the Hospice and she is still hanging in there. Gawd she cracks me up when we get on a roll. Anywho, I'm sending her a "Goodie Basket" and she promises to "hang in there" until she receives it. Gosh she sure is a strong gal!!
ya know Janie, I only met Tammy once and then of course all the e-mails she has sent through the years, though I didn't return many as I never seem to have enough time (as well as I hate writing them as you are aware). It's just that I've known so many people who have left this world for no good reason that I know if it were me... I would want as much contact with "friends" as I could get.
Her aunt Nelda did indeed put the e-mails and well wishes in hand made cards as she said she would and Tammy adores them!!! They are hanging on her walls for her to see daily and anyone who visits can see them too.

How sad. Though I never met SS I will never forget all the help of her and the friends in helping me find my way to AC and the Village. Blessings.
