The new plates with SP are different (flimsy) than the old BZ plates. I'm sure they are made locally.

What a comedy the traffic scammers are.

The dreaded trip to the San Pedro Town Transport Department yesterday was a pleasure! Staff was very friendly, polite and competent. I got 2 nice new SP plates, a yearly registration renewal sticker, and then while upstairs paying the fees I also got a new SPTC sticker. All for BZ$200...a reasonable fee.

Jesse, were you due to get your stickers anyway? Ours don't expire until October, so if I don't have to get all that done, I would rather not. October works better for us.

Yes, it was perfect timing for me...renewal necessary on 1 July (or thereabouts)
