Wade, you should be sure to check with the cruise line. We wanted to do that a couple years ago, except we wanted to get on the cruise ship in Belize City. Princess absolutely refused and told us that we had to travel port to port if we were on the cruise. Because of the sophisticated security they have on those ships now, your not returning after a day of port in Belize City could sound alarms unless you OK it with the cruise line first.

Many times we have flown out of Cancun to the US then back from the US into BZE. This generally saves us about $400.00 on each ticket, and its always nice to spend a couple of days in Playa before getting to the US.

Obviously, that is common sense, but to which post are you referring that prompted you to make your comment?

According to the Department of Immigration, it is NOT illegal to enter Belize with a one-way ticket, and it is the decision of the Immigration Officer on duty whether or not to allow a visitor to enter Belize.

Do I have to be referring to a specific post when I make a comment or observation?

Hi Amanda,

You should direct your question to the people who run this board.

I had a quick look at the FAQ and found this, "The first post of a given topic establishes the subject by which all subsequent replies will be known. Once there's been a reply, the topic subject cannot be subsequently changed."

So if your post has nothing to do with the topic, then is it correct to say that you have not followed the accepted conduct of the board?

I would have thought it more intelligent to keep posts within the topic being discussed.

Hope this helps.

Ossumt,

If you plan on staying in Belize indefinitely, the easiest thing to do is simply buy a round trip ticket (fabricate the return date, it does not matter.) Then, simply stay in Belize and go about the monthly stamping process at Immigration here.

What's that....?

Oh, yes, of course, the $$$ for the return leg will have gone to waste, but trust that the longer you stay in Belize, that tix $$$ will soon be overshadowed by all the other ways in which $$$ seems to evaporate here in Belize!!!
