I appreciate the positive responses, even the constructive negative ones. Truth is, I'm not the super typical stoner type I just prefer pot to drinking. It's easier on the head the next day. Smoking a bowl or joint is equal to a drink at the end of the day for me, I'm not Spicoli. I wasn't asking anyone to hook me up, just a general idea of the way things work.

Rule #1 for travelers - "don't break laws in foreign countries".
It's not about the morality of the laws, it's about personal safety.
Lots of laws make no sense to me, but breaking them must be done with awareness (and acceptance) of consequences.

Who needs pot when you're in a beautiful tropical place? Isn't the water, beaches, the diving/snorkeling, the wildlife, the people, the great food, the great drinks without overdoing it, and the views enough?

Gabe, you might as well stay away... Belize is a fairly decent place.. Several points to be made.. 1). You don't want to get involved with the local gangs inadvertently, you will end up in a canal.. 2). you've already stated what type of person you are and are obviously not welcome as some of the replies clearly suggest 3). Have you ever watched locked up abroad?

I wanted to respond to everyone individually but I'm short on time... just wanted to say thanks for all of the PMs. Far friendlier than the most vocal which is sadly more often than not the case.
