Hon, you gotta get off that ball. Blood flow and all...Anyway, somewhere on this BB there just needs to be a bar, where we all get drunk/stoned/lonely and talk like this. There's a difference when your actually on the island?

Laurie, can you agree that when you cook fish, even though it's in the kitchen, that the smell permeates the whole house? That, imo, is a reasonable analogy for what's happening on ACMB. The stink of discontent gets everywhere!
...and Marty, you man are a saint! I would have turfed most of the rabble rousers a long time ago! "Bobber, it may be that way at your house but at my house it's not. I use the channel guide and if there is nothing on that I want to watch, which is the usual case, I shut the damn thing off! The mister, on the other hand will surf through the channels endlessly until he settles for the least sucky program, which is usually a sport - any kind of sport...cricket even, which everyone knows is really sucky!" I, at this point would like to recommend to the Vatican, Sainthood for Marty! And the mister! I think the "mister" deserves it more. No doubt there will be no purgatory for him, it will be straight up! :-)Time served!

Belize has no better advocate/friend/saint than Marty when it comes to tying the folks who love the place together. These head-banging threads are amusing, but we should never lose sight of why we are all here to chew on each other. The funny part is that while we might still do it over a Belikin at BC's, but we would be grinning all the while.
When you find a big kettle of crazy, it's best not to stir it.

I have never been involved in a conversation about US politics while in a bar in Belize.... for most of us, SP is a politics free zone.
It's rarely rocket science, it's usually just math: then again if you can't do the math.......

Why on earth do you want to argue US politics on a San Pedro message board? Why not go someplace like this... http://www.arguewitheveryone.com/ ...and play with people whose sole raison d'etre revolves around this stuff? The big (and somewhat obvious?) reason is that many of us know each other personally, so a discussion about the political landscape of our country is perfectly normal and a natural extention of conversation we have face to face.... I spent last night with some friends I met via this board..... After asking about Jane, the next question was "who is Jhill anyway?" and then we ate a great meal they showed me their new guns! We all have the option to discuss what interests us, and ignore what doesn't.... to try and mandate otherwise would sadly mirror the current political climate about which many of us here are voicing our opinions and distaste!
