Omaha Frozen Steaks, they come in delivered to your door in a box. Has anyone tried to bring a box here? Would it be stopped by customs as being a food product? Would it cost an arm and a leg in duty if it was allowed through? I am really craving a good steak, I have had Omaha steaks in the States, and I am curious about getting someone to carry a box here.

Absolutely you are supposed to get an importation permit from BAHA to bring in meat products.

The import duties are probably highish (I am not sure) but I doubt they would exceed doubling your cost.

Head up to Capricorn.....they have filet mignon to die for....I think they get it from the US. Better than going through the hassle of trying to get Omaha steaks brought down......I think BAHA would have a problem with it.

Ya, I figured. Thanks guys. Well, the ribs are always good, and I am right around the corner from Lino's. I am not big on restaurants, I just love to do a good steak on the barbie.

Oh just be patient, with so many people "craving" things from the states I'm sure it's just a matter of time before they build an Outback Steakhouse on AC.

Years ago, before customs became so picky, I took down a whole beef tenderloin and a smoked ham. I told the inspector that I was Jewish and the meats were kosher, that my faith did not permit me to eat non blessed, non kosher meat. No problem smile

You don't see 'Jewish & smoked ham' in the same sentence very often.
