Hello Everyone.
We are now in the planning stages for San Pedro Lobsterfest 2011. This
year the event will run from Sunday June 19th to Saturday June 25th.

So far, the confirmed events are as follows:
Sunday June 19th: Launch Event at Banana Beach/El Divino
Thursday June 23rd: Event at Pedro's Inn
Saturday June 25th: Block Party main event in Central Park (once again
featuring Supa G)

The other 4 nights are available for any Business that would like to
host. This will be done on a first come, first serve basis so if you
are interested in hosting an official event please let us know as soon
as possible.

The Planning Committee is also looking for new and interesting ideas
for this years' Lobsterfest. Anything ranging from event ideas for
certain nights to thoughts about what could be done during the Block
Party to Entertainment options for that evening. If you have ideas,
please share them by replying to this email.

Some ideas we are considering this year include:
1. Revisiting the Lobster King and Queen competition during the Block Party
2. Hosting a Talent competition during the Block Party
3. Hosting a Jingle Competition leading up to Lobsterfest (people
create a jingle, the jingles get performed on Reef Radio leading up to
the Block Party, then perform them again that evening and people vote
a winner)
4. Hosting an 'Official Logo' competition leading up to Lobsterfest

We want to make this an exciting event this season, to further extend
high season and generate more income for the entire island, so anyone
that has suggestions and ideas please contact us.

Does anyone have any updates on the Lobsterfest event schedule? I know Marty posted the tentative schedule in mid April, but wondered if it had been finalized or added to. Heading down in 16 days!!!!

I know the committee is working feverishly on the details - its gonna be a doozy. Dates are the 19th - 25th June. Other than that, I know there are some tantalizing teasers that will get everybody excited.....

But you are going to have to wait a wee bit longer for the schedule of events.

Saturday, June 25th, 2011:
San Pedro Lobsterfest Town Block Party

The ever-popular 'Lobsterfest Town Block Party' will be the grand finale of San Pedro Lobsterfest 2011 and kicks off at 1:00 pm in Central Park. This Event features Live Entertainment by Belize's own Supa G, Food Competitions, Drink Competitions, Booth Competitions and a whole lot of fun! It's the party of the year and you do not want to miss it.

The afternoon kicks off at 1:00 pm and features an Art Show in Central Park, Live Music all afternoon and the race finish of the Love FM Kayak Challenge. Competitors are racing from Belize City to San Pedro, and will arrive in the early afternoon at the finish line in central park.

From 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm food booths will line Front Street from the Post Office to Fido's offer a wide array of culinary delights. Entertainment will be happening throughout the park and street while the Best Food, Best Drink and Best Overall Booth competitions are happening. Stroll and mingle, eat and drink and of course, be merry along the way.
