I read an article the other day stating that fares to Belize City from Canada had dropped to just over $600 (round trip), so it's quite strange that fares are so high from the US.

where is the proof of these low fares

Check Continental,, Kansas City>belize City (R/T) Thursday Sept 29, Return Oct 5. $584.35 tax included. Of course I don't know where you live.

If you have more time than money, the cheapest way to get here is to book a flight to Cancun.(locals do this all the time) Usually you can get these flight at a substantial discount. Then take the ADO bus to either Belize City, or Chetumal and then Water Taxi to AC.

More time and luggage hassle but big savings

Eww. I just looked at fares now. It must have been something to do with it being Labor Day weekend in the USA. Who knows. But the $21 dollar transfer fee on my ticket was a big and very welcome surprise for me especially as I had gotten my ticket on air miles.

I guess the days of low fares are a thing of the past
