I like to bring some SSS (Skin so Soft) made by Avon. Its the best mosquito repellent I know. Put it on before your shower it will still work. Put some on afterwards for extra protection. Good scandals. A mini-maglite to keep your keys together and for reading under the covers.

You will not need to take a scandal, you will be able to create one there. Why take sand to the beach?
Honestly - few people are going to look at what you are wearing, so you do not need a different outfit for everyday.
DO NOT take more than one T-shirt, one Tank top and two pairs of shorts. You will buy T's & tanks while there, so do it your 1st or 2nd day and wear them with pride.
One long sleeved cover-up is a must. For women one loose, soft, sexy long dress or skirt to catch the evening breeze.
On of the great attractions (for me) to A/C is that it is not RESORTEE. I like that when I walk down the beach I can't tell the visitors from the residents.
Each trip I find that I take less and bring home more - not stuff - but feelings.
