Telling someone to stay home is not going to help any of the businesses or people working in SP. As to the SP town's budget allotment from GOB - it is so skewed in relation to the amount of taxes paid by AC/SP. That's a whole other can of worms.

I appreciate the good words from those who understand that this has gotten a little heated. But not to worry, I have never been one to mind what others say much, especially from this context. NOBODYYOUKNOW is just spouting off out of frustration, people do that sometimes. He/she doesn't know me from Adam and might actually like me when they meet me. I'll be there in September and again in December. Permanently in the next year or so.

I do find his/her signature appropriate though; it just doesn't seem like today was one of those days. = )

San Pedro is one of the best places on earth , because of the people and culture. Colly, you are one of those people, you give so much of yourself it makes me humble, this has just been awful . I am truly sorry, you have done so much for the education of animal cruelty and now this. You , me and many other animal lovers are disenchanted to say the least.
I don't blame Danny,he has really been putting the community first. This as you know is a health problem that effects the community. The trash that I travel threw daily because of the dogs has been equally dis enchanting . I witnessed the town board clean our neighborhood 4 times in past 6 weeks , the streets have trash all over as if they have not been by.The problem is way out of hand and needed to be dealt with. As a leader, Danny had to do something . He is a true leader, sometimes you have to do things that won't be popular , for the good of the community. I personally think his hands were tied, unfortunately; this meant poisoning the stray dogs.
If you can come up with a viable funded solution lets meet with Danny,he does care; it's sad he had no IMMEDIATE solution. The only reason that I mention your name is you are a doer , please don't loose your passion. We will get threw this , let's focus on a solution so we can prevent this from happening again. Colly , your time has not been wasted and we appreciate and support you !

Apparently it does not take much for 'Nobody You Know' to get his/her hair on fire and running around the room.
It's getting old. Hopefully something positive will come out soon.

Danny has taken the job on headlong. The good with the bad. It's good to have a mayor with a backbone that can take the issues head on and damn the torpedoes.

Gee, what do we have to do to get the theives and robbers to take a dump on the beach?
Danny would get them taken care of too.

Amanda you hit the nail on the spot... but be careful that the Be Kind Belize blame you too for scrapping their program... whoever thinks differently than they do they blame....

UPDATE: Mayor Danny was just on Reef TV agreeing to stop the eradication of Strychnine poisoning of the dogs in San Pedro and to consult with Saga Humane Society and the San Pedro Animal Hospital.

Be Kind Belize has been doing a wonderful job in teaching our youth about not only loving and respecting animals but also about cherishing them and caring for them. The program teaches about how to act around animals too.

At the end of the day it will take generations of kinder and kinder people to result in the laws of Belize changing and the attitude towards animals to go from "work animal" or disposable item to cherished family member. But it will happen and Be Kind Belize is helping pave the way.

My wife and I have only been to SP three times but we are done. It won't ruin your economy but we won't support SP. SAGA should not have to be harassed by the private clinic and the SPTC.
