If taxes were raised, maybe there would be eight story buildings going up on middle street.

If taxes were used for their proper means instead of building eight story condo blocks on Middle Street............... oh wait I'm not Pedro..........

Older folks living in the village on their original home sites are now living on a much more valuable piece of property that is taxed on a value from 50 years or more back.
It would be very unfair to raise the tax on some of these older people on fixed incomes.
New tax laws would be appropriate but need to consider these old timers. I think the value is currently appraised/set on the last purchase price. This seems fair however just raising the rate is still a hardship on some of these older retired San Pedranos.
It will be a tough job and something very creative will need to be set in place to protect them.

What is used is a "homestead exemption" to protect the people you talking about. Now collecting the taxes not being paid is another issue.

Gonna be rough getting garbage to the mainland tranfer station if you dont have enough functioning trucks to get it there...well assuming that's still in the offing.

The Trash Truck will absolutely guaranteed no s&%! this time for sure be coming over the bridge to Grand Caribe this Saturday morning from 5:00 AM to 7:00 AM.
Trash must be outside the fences roadside.
