As of 10AM there has been a total of 1,753 votes cast in Belize Rural South: 1,451 in Polling Station 37 (Ambergris Caye) and 302 in Polling Station 34 and 38 (Caye Caulker and St. George's Caye). This marks a voter turnout of 20.04%. Photos
At 2pm, Reports from Caye Caulker are that 457 individuals out of the 905 registered voters have voted today, making it a little over 50% voter turnout so far.
Over seven hours into the 2015 General Elections, electorates continue to make their way to the polls to cast their vote to decide the next government. While in some areas of the country, weather conditions have slowed down the election process, here in Belize Rural South (BRS) voting remains steady. Up to 1PM 2,906 out of 8,749 registered voters had made it to the polls, registering a 33.2% voter turnout. Overall 74,614 out of 196,587 registered voters in entire Belize have exercised their right to vote marking a 38% voter turnout for the country.
Here in San Pedro, Polling Area 37, a total of 2,449 residents have cast their vote, while 453 have cast their vote in Caye Caulker, Polling Area 34 and 38. San Pedro is at a voter turnout of 31.2% while Caye Caulker is at 50.06%. According to Returning Officer, Martin Alegria, the voting process slowed down as the morning came to an end, but he expects an increase in voter turnout in the final hours. "The process inside the polling area is going smoothly. We haven't had any problems yet. Outside of the polling stations there is no animosity, everything is peaceful. I am working closely with the San Pedro Police Department to address all issues that arises. The voter turnout is slowing. The big push will be from 5PM to closing at 6PM. I encourage everyone to come out and exercise their right to vote," said Alegria.

As of 3PM there has been a total of 3,859 votes cast in Belize Rural South marking a 44% voter's turnout. In San Pedro, Polling Area 37, number of cast votes are at 3,283 out of 7,844 registered voters; a 42% voter's turnout for Ambergris Caye. As for Caye Caulker, voter's turnout is at 63.65% with 576 cast votes out of 905 registered voters. Overall there has been a 45% voter's turnout for the entire country of Belize with 89,321 out of 196,587 registered voters already exercising their right to vote in the 2015 General Election.
As of 5PM 60% of registered voters in Belize had already visited one of 393 polling stations across the country. Here in Belize Rural South (BRS) voter's turnout is at 60% with 5,249 out of 8,749 registered electorates having cast their vote.
According to Returning Officer, Martin Alegria, as of 5PM, 4,607 votes had been cast at Polling Area 37 while 642 votes had been cast at Polling Area 34 and 38. With a voter's turnout of 59% in San Pedro, 3,237 registered voters have still not made it to the polls. As for Caye Calker, their voter's turnout is at 71% with 263 registered voters still not having cast their votes.
Unofficial reports are that so far, four box have been counted in Belize Rural South with UDP's Manuel Heredia Jr. in the lead. So far Heredia has 933 votes, PUP's Jose "Elito" Arceo has 541 votes and BPP's Robert "Bobby" Lopez has 25 votes.
