Dude,

Just the fact alone that you were cranking it at work, is enough to disgust me enough to never visit your practice

I have no idea if the dentist is telling the truth or not. I don't think my family would be comfortable with him.

Having said that it is a fact that many people will plea a charge or suit because of the costs to fight same. This is especially so if you are up against the government, all levels in the USA at least. Charges are placed for political reasons all the time. Maybe only for the reason that it would not look good if they didn't and they wouldn't get re-elected. This despite the fact that the authorities may feel the evidence is thin. Mayors and Governors put pressure on the prosecutors all the time. The government has bottomless pockets and plenty of lawyers. The people who make these decisions have little to lose if they are mistaken.

I have first hand experience with cases being settled in the halls outside the court room just before seeing the judge or magistrate. The person charged will plea to a less of case to avoid having to hire a lawyer or continued lawyer fees. Same with a civil suit. I'm sure in many cases they would have prevailed in a finding of innocent but justice is expensive. Sometimes there is no justice if you run out of resources.

Then there are also the forfeiture laws that give a bounty to the police for certain actions. In some State many of these have been rolled back they were so outrageous but many are still in place. For instance if you get stopped for a minor traffic violation and are carrying a large sum of money it could be seized with no charges filed against you. That is absolutely the truth and there are many examples of innocent people caught up in this.

A person is this man's shoes is screwed the minute an accusation is made. I think this man should find another profession. Maybe he could sell dental supplies or something.

Boy did Ragman hit that right on the head. Years ago we made a real estate loan to a man who owned a triplex. A year later, the lady (82 yrs old) who sold him the Triplex sued him for taking advantage of her... She also sued the escrow, the title company, my company, our lender, our company's broker ( personally) and some others. Part of the suit was for "elder abuse". Remember; we made a loan to somebody who owned this triplex... Never "heard" of this lady.

Of course we defended this absurd lawsuit. The title company defended our lender but we had to pay legal fees for our company and our broker. After $100,000 in legal fees we "settled" just to get out of the nightmare. Never had an experience anything like that. We would have had a downtown L.A. jury like the one who acquitted OJ.. It wasn't worth another $150,000 in legal fees to go to trial.

Right on Ragman... Perhaps a little levity is proper about now. When I was growing up, drug stores used to have soda fountains. One of our teenage pranks was to ask the pharmacist if the analyzed urine... Ok; wash your hands and I'll have an ice cream cone.

A little known fact... Women who are overweight tend to live longer than men who mention it...

Wish the Minister who was paid off and ok'd this license to practice in Belize was sentenced to getting his teeth drilled without novocaine, which this good doc eschews for other substances. Really now.

Letter to the Editor: Dr. Hall is a Fraud

Dear Editor:

"Dr." Robert Hall aka John Roberts Hall, is not only a pervert (thank you so much for your story) but a crook who worked many years as the contact dentist for Americans going to an outfit known as Dentavac operating in Escazu, San Jose, Costa Rica, Dr. Baez (aka Luis Baez) and Dr. Arturo Acosta. This is no small office. It takes up a huge building and has armed guards. I work for United Airlines and went to have minor dental veneers placed by Dentavac in March of 2013. This is a common practice in the airline industry. Nips, tucks, teeth whitening, bio identicals, etc. at a reduced price overseas. "Dr." Robert Hall was the "dental designer" while a Dr. Monterserat Chacon did the actual dentistry (overseen by this Baez). Robert Hall, who was supervised by Dr. Acosta, put himself out as an NYU teaching fellow and expert in cosmetic dentistry, stating that he was "retired" enjoying surfing and downsizing from the hustle bustle of American life. He was the consummate salesman, 100 percent backed by these Escazu dental frauds. My dental "design" for a "whiter" smile is, of course, not what happened. My mouth was permanently changed, teeth destroyed, infection, pain, pain, pain. I've suffered permanent trigeminal nerve damage, and will be in facial pain the rest of my life. I've spent $50,000 repairing the actual veneers and placing crowns and implants by an expert in Santa Monica, California. Dentavac owners and dentists are just as responsible as this Mr. Hall for causing pain, hurt, financial and emotional damage. I hope your story will be published in the San Jose Costa Rica paper as well.

I have all emails, responses etc. showing his fraud. US and other passports traveling to Dentavac need to have this information. There is a blog if you Google "don't go to Dentavac in Costa Rica" (it's a travel blog) where we victims of this place have sought to "out" them. I believe this is why Dentavac fired him. Would that his atrocious crimes in North Carolina were all he did? There is so much more and so many other players.

Many, many thanks. I have prayed for the day I would read this story.

It's incredibly obvious, isn't it? A foreign substance is introduced into our precious bodily fluids, without the knowledge of the individual, certainly without any choice. That's the way a hard-core Commie works.
