Mayor Daniel Guerrero, Councilors Hector Alamilla, Gary Greif and Gabriel Nu�ez had a luncheon with the delegates vying for the title of Miss Costa Maya Intl. 2018 along with the reigning Miss Costa Maya 2017, Michelle Nu�ez. They were all graciously hosted by Secret Paradise Beach Bar & Grill, with a buffet of lobster, fish and shrimp fingers just to name a few, and of course delicious frozen drinks to beat the heat! After lunch, Mayor Daniel Guerrero and Councilors, presented each delegate and reigning Miss Costa Maya, with a small gift for their participation. Thank you Secret Paradise Beach Bar for this exquisite lunch and picturesque setting!

P.S. On the way back, Miss Panama was brave enough to drive back from Secret Beach to town. She feels at home already! Hold on tight Mayor!

Costa Maya Festival Kicks Off With Packed Lineup Of Entertainment

With a very hot, lively and energetic line up of performances, the San Pedro International Costa Maya Festival kicked off last night on Ambergris Caye, Belize. The show included theatrical and lively performances by the Alma Caribe�a dance group from Mexico, the explosive dance presentations by Grupo Crash of El Salvador, the cultural drumming and dancing of the Charikaniri Garifuna Dance Group of Belize and the lively sounds of Belize's Youth Connection Band accompanied by an energetic Ernestine Carballo and Harrison "Dawgie" King; DJ Patron kept the music flowing.

For the first time at the festival, pageant preliminaries of the Miss Costa Maya took place in the midst of all the performance of the evening. Costa Maya Festival continues this evening with Pageant Night and a host of other performances from Belize and the region. San Pedro is boasting a packed island with thousand of visitors from around the country and world coming to enjoy a fun-filled weekend in La Isla Bonita.

Costa Maya International Festival has begun!
The much-anticipated Costa Maya International Festival began on Thursday, August 2nd with the preliminary Costa Maya Pageant. The evening saw the girls gracing the stage in outfits created by talented designers from their countries of origin. The beauties also participated in a short chit-chat session with hosts Deli Eiley and Horacio Louis Guerrero. One by one the beauties shared their experiences in Belize so far, endearing them even further with the public and judges (who will be revealed at the actual pageant on Friday, August 3rd).

Mary Cruz Cardona Galindo, Miss Honduras is Reina de la Costa Maya 2018!

Taking the 2018 title of Reina de la Costa Maya is Mary Cruz Cardona Galindo of Honduras! Charming the judges and the crowd, Mary Cruz was able to walk away with the crown and title of Miss Costa Maya International 2018-19. She was selected after an elegant show of beauty, glamour and culture onstage at the Honorable Louis Sylvestre Sporting Complex on Friday, August 3rd.

Kicking off the show was the talented Alma Caribe�a dance troupe from Mexico, with their fantastic acrobatics and showy costumes. Their dance performance was the perfect segue into the contestants' elaborate and breathtaking cultural costume segment.

Reigning Miss Costa Maya Michelle Estrella Nu�ez gave her final walk across the stage to deliver her farewell address. Visibly emotional, Michelle told the audience that she is officially finished with pageantry as she will be devoted to her studies at the University of Belize. The pageantry world will certainly miss one of its best contestants. Her final walk was to thunderous applause from an appreciative Costa Maya audience.

With a commanding stage presence, poise, elegance and intelligence, Miss Honduras, Mary Cruz Cardona Galindo captured the Miss Costa Maya 2018 title during the Costa Maya Festival held in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye Belize. Rounding up the top three were Miss Mexico (also winning Best National Costume) in second place and Miss Costa Rica in third. The stage was filled with bright colors as the seven contestants left the audience in awe with their cultural costume presentations, playfully flirted in their swimsuits and captivated everyone's attention with glamorous evening gowns. Entertainment was provided by Alma Caribe�a dance troupe from Mexico and Grupo Crash from El Salvador.

Reggaeton royalty Ivy Queen rocks Costa Maya 2018 stage
The legendary Ivy Queen delighted hundreds of fans during her concert at the International Costa Maya Festival on Saturday, August 4th. International Night featured a medley of artists leading up to the grand finale, and the audience was treated to some top notch performances. Grupo Crash opened the ceremonies with a high-energy dance routine, and they were followed by a quick rap solo by Frank 'El Killer', a local island talent. The iconic Belizean group Garifuna Collective came up next, bringing the best of their hits to life. The audience was treated to a spectacular show of drumming, singing and dancing - there was even a quick demonstration of the Jankunu!

Ivy Queen, the Queen of Reggaeton, had the masses singing and dancing during her performance at the International Costa Maya Festival that was held over the weekend in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye. She performed on Saturday, August 4 to the delight of hundreds of fans that crowed the venue. International night proved to be the most successful night of the festival with top performances prior to Ivy Queen's headliner appearance on stage. The Queen of Reggaeton performed her greatest hits such as "Yo Quiero Bailar, Que Lloren, Soy Libre" and much more. Fans as far away from Mexico and Colombia travelled to the island to meet and see her perform.
