The Belize Birding Festival will be happening the last long weekend of October at the NATS grounds.

Home to more than 600 species of birds-including the keel-billed toucan, harpy eagle, blue-crowned motmot and endangered jabiru stork and scarlet macaw-Belize is a bird-watcher's Eden. The country is so forested that birders can sometimes spot up to 50 species in a single excursion. This year, the first Belize Birding Festival is being held at the National Agriculture & Trade Showgrounds in Belmopan on October 25-28. The four day event will include different speakers, vendors and art exhibitors, guided tours, and other special events.

Belize is an ideal and laid-back country, perfect for the casual or hard-core birder seeking an introduction to neotropical birding. With dozens of birding hotspots and several regional endemic species located throughout the country, you can start getting those lifers in any corner of this Jewel.

As a result, the Belize Tourism Industry Association (BTIA) has partnered with the Belize Hotel Association and Belize Audubon Society to host the 1st Annual Belize Birding Festival on October 25-28, 2018 in the City of Belmopan. Counting on the attendance of industry partners including hotels/resorts, DMCs, tour agencies, NGOs, local artists, and public interested in birding! So, mark your calendars for October 25-28, 2018 and plan to join us in celebrating the first Belize birding festival!

Details about the event are still being finalized, so stay tuned for any updates.
