Four (4) COVID-19 cases were confirmed during the last twenty-four hours. Belize now has a total of 18 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
Details about the last 4 cases:
� One (1) woman from San Ignacio; close contact with a patient previously detected in the same village
� Three (3) patients in Belize City; close contacts of a patient previously detected in the same city
After 15 days of confirming your case, patient ➜. 3 is still positive.
Due to the above, the Ministry of Health can confirm that there are two (2) active clusters being closely monitored. These are located in San Ignacio and Belize City. The cluster in Belize City indicates having emerged after a social activity carried out on March 14 The cluster in Belize City has resulted in five (5) positive cases, therefore, the Ministry asks everyone who attended the event at Plaza Diner in Belize City on March 14 2020 call 0-800-MOH-CARE or 613-0787 (Central Health Region). If you were at that event and have developed symptoms including fever, coughing, sneezing, nasal slip or difficulty breathing, please stay in isolation and call the numbers indicated.
As of this moment, the Ministry of Health has increased the quarantine period to 21 days. You will have to remain in home quarantine if you have had immediate contact with any of the known cases.

- on medicines such as steroids or chemotherapy
- with chronic respiratory disease (COPD, asthma, emphysema, bronchitis)
- with Cardiovascular Disease including high blood pressure
- with diabetes.
