BELIZE FISHING REPORT

JULY 17, 2021 THROUGH JULY 24, 2021

Weather Conditions: Mostly sunny with some clouds and isolated showers during the week.

Winds: ESE 5-25 Mph.

Air Temperature: Early High 80s.

Sunrise: 5:29 am Sunset: 6:28 pm

Moonphase: waning gibbous 96%.

WHAT GUESTS WERE CATCHING:

BONEFISH (Macabi): Lots of bones were landed for the week, most were in the 2-4 pound range.

PERMIT (Palometta): 12 Permit were landed. The largest fish was about 15 pounds.

TARPON (Sabalo): 15 Tarpon were landed. The largest fish of the week was was about 90 pounds.

OTHER SPECIES: Rounding out the week, anglers landed some Jacks, Snapper, as well as big Barracuda.

GRAND SLAM: Four Grand Slams this week! Dan J. and Captain Cesar, Alex F. and Captain Jeo, Mackey J. and Captain Roger and Matt K. and Captain Gordy.

FLIES THAT WORKED

FOR BONEFISH - Christmas Island Specials in gold, pearl and pink sizes 4 & 6, and Crazy Charlies in pink and orange.

FOR PERMIT - Mantis shrimp, rag head crabs and Flexo crabs.

FOR TARPON - White bunnies, chartreuse and black/purple bunnies are the flies of choice.

Week in Review:

Some tough conditions early in the week, but clear skies and calmer winds by the end of the week helped produced some very nice fish and FOUR Grand Slams!.

JULY 24, 2021 THROUGH AUGUST 1, 2021

Weather Conditions: Calm winds and sunny skies most of the week.

Winds: ESE 5-20 Mph.

Air Temperature: Low - High 80s.

Sunrise: 5:31 am Sunset: 6:28 pm

Moonphase: Waning crescent 50.6%.

WHAT GUESTS WERE CATCHING:

BONEFISH (Macabi): More than 120 bones landed for the week; most were in the 2-4 pound range. Several fish over 5 pounds highlighted the Bonefish action.

PERMIT (Palometta): 13 Permit were landed. Largest fish was about 20 pounds.

TARPON (Sabalo): 24 Tarpon were landed. Largest fish of the week was was 120 pounds.

OTHER SPECIES: Rounding out the week anglers landed some Jacks, Snapper, as well as big Barracuda.

GRAND SLAM: Six Grand Slams - Jackson P. with Captain Kristian, three for Dean M. with Captain Emir, Kelsey R. with Captain Cesar, and Matt L. with Captain Michael.

FLIES THAT WORKED

FOR BONEFISH - Christmas Island Specials in gold, pearl and pink sizes 4 & 6, and Crazy Charlies in pink and orange.

FOR PERMIT - Mantis shrimp, rag head crabs and Flexo crabs.

FOR TARPON - White bunnies, chartreuse and black/purple bunnies are the flies of choice.

Week in Review:

Terrific slam week with some big Permit and several Tarpon over 100 pounds landed. We had clear skies and calmer winds much of the week. A record for one week with Six slams for the week!

Weather Conditions: A mild weather week. A few isolated showers and thunderstorms but mostly sunny skies and calm winds.

Winds: ESE 10-25 Mph.

Air Temperature: Low to High 80s.

Sunrise: 5:31 am Sunset: 6:28 pm

Moonphase: Waxing crescent 00.2%.

WHAT GUESTS WERE CATCHING:

BONEFISH (Macabi): More than 260 bones were landed for the week. Most were in the 2-4 pound range, with several fish over 5 pounds.

PERMIT (Palometta): 21 Permit were landed. Largest fish was about 20 pounds.

TARPON (Sabalo): 15 Tarpon were landed. The largest fish was about 40 pounds.

OTHER SPECIES: Rounding out the week, anglers landed some Jacks, Snapper, as well as a big Barracuda.

GRAND SLAM: Another banner Slam week with five recorded - Jim C. with Captain Roger; Captain Emir with Connor and Captain Cesar had slams with Joe L., Kevin P. and Lee S.

FLIES THAT WORKED

Air Temperature: Mid to High 80s.

Sunrise: 5:36 am Sunset: 6:22 pm

Moonphase: First Quarter 37.2%.

WHAT GUESTS WERE CATCHING:

BONEFISH (Macabi): More than 280 bones were landed for the week, most were in the 2-4 pound range.

PERMIT (Palometta): 35 Permit were landed.

TARPON (Sabalo): 30 Tarpon were landed.

OTHER SPECIES: Rounding out the week anglers landed some Jacks, Snapper, as well as big Barracuda.

GRAND SLAMS: 9 slams 2 super slams - Greg M. 4 slams with Captain Gordy; Forrest H. 2 slams and 1 super slam with Captain Gordy; Brian C. 1 super slam with Captain Michael; Nik R. 2 slams with Captain Kristian; Trevor G. 1 slam with Captain Emir and Capt. Cesar.

Moonphase: Full on the 22nd.

WHAT GUESTS WERE CATCHING:

BONEFISH (Macabi): Plenty of Bonefish were landed for the week, most were in the 2-4 pound range.

PERMIT (Palometta): 25 Permit were landed.

TARPON (Sabalo): 20 Tarpon were landed.

OTHER SPECIES: Rounding out the week anglers landed some Jacks, Snapper, as well as big Barracuda.

GRAND SLAMS: 6 slams again this week! Andrew M, Alex M, Greg P, Michael B, Gary V, and William N. Congratulations!

AUGUST 29, 2021 THROUGH SEPTEMBER 6, 2021

Weather Conditions: Weather was more of an issue this week. Some storms kept us off the water at times, but overall still had good conditions for getting out on the water.

Winds: ESE 5-15 Mph.

Air Temperature: High 80s.

Sunrise: 5:38 am Sunset: 6:01 pm

Moonphase: New Moon.

WHAT GUESTS WERE CATCHING:

BONEFISH (Macabi): More than 200 bones were landed for the week, and most were in the 2-4 pound range.

PERMIT (Palometta): 13 Permit were landed.

TARPON (Sabalo): 10 Tarpon were landed. The largest fish was about 50 pounds.

OTHER SPECIES: Anglers landed some Jacks, Snapper, as well as big Barracuda to round out the week.

FLIES THAT WORKED

FOR BONEFISH - Christmas Island Specials in gold, pearl and pink sizes 4 & 6, and Crazy Charlies in pink and orange.

FOR PERMIT - Mantis shrimp, rag head crabs and Flexo crabs.

FOR TARPON - EP baitfish, White bunnies, chartruese and black/purple bunnies are the flies of choice.

Week in Review:

It was a great week even with some weather forcing us to find other ways than fishing to spend our time, which was super easy here! Many first time Permit and Tarpon were caught.

Weather Conditions: Good weather with a bit of extra wind on a couple of days. More sun than we have had for a few weeks, and conditions get better each day.

Winds: ESE up to 20 Mph.

Air Temperature: Low to High 80's.

Sunrise: 5:36 am Sunset: 6:22 pm

Moonphase: First quarter 37.2%.

WHAT GUESTS WERE CATCHING:

BONEFISH (Macabi): More than 250 bones were landed for the week; most were in the 2-4 pound range.

PERMIT (Palometta): 25 Permit were landed.

TARPON (Sabalo): 16 Tarpon were landed. The largest fish was about 80 pounds.

OTHER SPECIES: Anglers landed some Jacks, Snapper, as well as big Barracuda. 1 Snook was also landed.

GRAND SLAMS: One grand slam for Paul with his guide, Cesar.

FLIES THAT WORKED
