JOHN D. WESTERHOLD, known locally as Iguana Jack, has been interpreting Belize through his art for 20 years. Nestled between Guatemala, Honduras, and Mexico, Belize is a small country with many faces. The majestic Maya ruins, the wild & unspoiled tropical rain forest, and the ever-changing beauty of the Barrier Reef has given impetus & power to Mr. Westerhold's creativity. The result is an impressive body of work ranging from painting to sculpture. Through his art we see reflected the real Belize, from ancient Maya cultures to the Belize of today. His paintings express the many moods of Belizean life. Warm inviting pastels & rich earth tones stimulate our senses. His wide range of styles, from impressionism to photo realis, express his love of and affinity for this little tropical paradise.
