Belize to be featured in Sol y Luna Central America Guide Book

Belize will be featured in the 1999 Sol y Luna Central America Guide Book. Sol y Luna presently features Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica. The guide book is written in Spanish and English. Sol y Luna provides travelers to Central America with information about popular tourist sites, hotels and restaurants and much more. One hundred of Central America's best restaurants are featured annually in Sol y Luna. A group of affluent business people from Belize were asked to patronize several restaurants throughout the country and select eight of the best restaurants in Belize. Three were selected from Belize City and five from San Pedro Town, Ambergris Caye.

On August 11th, Maria Eugenia Ludwick of Sol y Luna and Lita Krohn, Sol y Luna's contact person in Belize, traveled to San Pedro to present awards of recognition to the five owners of the restaurants that were chosen in San Pedro.

The restaurants were rated 1 through 4; 1 - bad, 2 - regular, 3 - very good and 4 - excellent. Atmosphere, food, wines and service were considered for the selection. The eight best restaurants chosen from Belize are: Belize City - Fort Street Guesthouse Restaurant, Mangoes Seafood Bar and Grill, Sea Rock Indian Restaurant; San Pedro - Mata Chica's Mambo Restaurant, Little Italy, Elvi's Kitchen, Capricorn Restaurant and Celi's Restaurant at the Holiday Hotel.
