 
Sashing ceremonies for the four contestants vying for the title of Miss San Pedro 1998, were held on Friday, August 21st, at Central Park. The four young ladies competing in the pageant are: Miss Irenie Gonzalez, 15, sponsored by Ramon's Village; Sari Kumul, 18, sponsored by San Pedro Town Board; Norma Flota, 15, sponsored by NOVA; and Maribel Acosta, 16, sponsored by Mash Hardware and Coral Cable Vision. Master of ceremonies was Mr. Angel Nuñez. The contestants introduced themselves in their evening wear and performed a group dance. Miss Chiquitita 1997, Miss Yanine Ruiz, and Miss Chiquitita 1998, Miss Paulita Guerrero, also performed dance presentations. Barbara Alonzo's dance group entertained the audience during intermissions.
The selection of Miss San Pedro 1998 will be held at Central Park on September 9th at 7:30 p.m.
